Applying For The Oklahoma Contractor License
You need to access the application from the OCIB website. The following items are required to be included with your application:
-A completed, notarized Application for Contractor’s License
-A completed, notarized Personal History Statement for each individual applicant and qualifying agent
-$200.00 non-refundable application fee for each classification being applied
-Proof of passing the required business and law examination for each classification being applied (applicants are given one year to pass the examination from the date their application is received)
-If applicable, proof of passing the required trade examination for each classification being applied
-Documentation of experience as required for each classification being applied
After your application has been reviewed and all requirements are met, you will be scheduled for an interview with the Board. Upon completion of the interview process, the Board will determine whether or not to issue you a contractor’s magazines2day.
If you are approved, you will be required to post a $15,000.00 surety bond for each classification in which you wish to practice. The surety bond has to be issued by a company licensed to perform any business in Oklahoma and must name the OCIB as obligee. The bond must be filed with the OCIB prior to the issuance of your license.
Your Oklahoma Contractor License will be valid for a period of two years from the date of issuance and must be renewed biennially. You can renew your license online through the OCIB website. A renewal fee of $200.00 is required for each classification in which you wish to continue to practice.
As part of the renewal process, you will be required to attest that you have completed at least 16 hours of continuing education during the previous two-year period. Of the 16 hours, at least 4 hours must be in business management and at least 4 hours must be in law. The remaining hours can be in either business management or law. If you are unable to complete the required continuing education hours, you will not be eligible to renew your license and will need to reapply for a new license and stylishster.
